New Brazilian Male

PHLdyPayne Oct 02, 2006 01:14 PM

I picked up a nice male brazilian rainbow boa male at the first reptile show up here in Ottawa. He will be the future mate for my female next season (decided to wait to breed her till next year, by the time he's out of quarentee, will be rather late in the year to start breeding and the extra year will just make her bigger and heavier overall.)

And a recent picture of my female.

Oh for crying out loud....I can never get multi-posting to work....even though I know I am using the coding correctly...sigh, well the pictures will be in the next couple posts including this one.

KS does get a bit picky about coding, if not just right....don't work.

For those that don't know how to post multiple (or any) pics, To post a pic, pic must have URL something like:
http://rainbows-r-us-reptiles.com/images/Anery%20pic%2001.JPG

Note: I've found with my kingsnake pics, you have to click on the pic and look at properties to get the correct URL address.

To get the pic to show on KS, you need to add image tags (shown with a space so they won't work:

[i mg]http://rainbows-r-us-reptiles.com/images/Anery%20pic%2001.JPG[/i mg]

and one more time without the spaces:

You can put as many of the addresses with tags as you want and you can type verbiage between.

Thing is, that is exactly what I do, but it rarely if ever works for me. I have done it once or twice before, but most times it just doesn't work. I really think the problem is the URL for the pictures are long and this messes it up. Then agian I have no problems linking webpages with long URL's to my posts using the url tags.

Where are your pics hosted? Some of the pic posting sites don't seem to like work with ks.

And please post the url without tags and I'll se what I can figure out for ya.

Duh, just had to click on your not posted pic to see it was a cut/paste from the address line while viewing your KS pic:

http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/index.php?photo=298634&user=43130

That is not the URL, to see the actual URL. right click on the pic and click on properties. There you will find the URL is:

http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/data/43130image0233.jpg

and your other two pic URLs:

http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/data/43130image0232.jpg

http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/data/43130image0227.jpg

and with image tags voila:

I store all my pic URL's with image tags in a spreadsheet, then I can copy paste one or more in a few seconds when I want one or twelve:

Het anery BRB
Anery BRB
Anery BRB
Anery BRB
Anery / het anery BRB

You rule Dave!

Thanks alot for figuring this out for me and everybody else who read your post and is having the same problem. I deffinitely will pass this information to everybody else i see post having similar difficulties. I am going to have to check and see if this 'trick' to posting multi pics off the kingsnake gallery is in the FAQ and see if I can get it included in the 'Tools and Toys' link. I think it will be extremely helpful.

So, now that is all figured out, what do you think of my rainbows? LOL

np, glad to be of service. The way I figure it, the more people I can get set up to post there own pics, the more pics I get to see!!

BTW, nice BRB's (as if I've ever seen any ugly ones)

I like the one with the more orange crescents, just my personal prefs, I like them with contrasting colors.

Thanks both of you. Glad you like them, I certainly do I am really glad I was able to find an adult male, was starting to think I will have to wait another 2-3 years to breed my female....but now I can breed next season, By the time my new male is out of quarentee, it will be rather late to start cooling them for mating (or at least I think you need to cool rainbows...will have to double check that before I do). But next season is fine with me, this season I will breed some corn snakes, to practice (not that i have to worry about incubating eggs with BRB's...) but still will learn things from breeding corns and they are pretty easy to breed from what I have read. THe hardest part is getting my apartment cool enough to cool the corns...without freezing all my other reptiles, LOL.
