Post Shed. Not much difference from a nice axanthic, but this is a female. The black is kinda purplish in the right light, you can see it in a bit of the pics, but as always, does not seem real accurate to what you see “in person”.

That Ghost looks just like mine. The Lemke line of axanthics was been used in all of the ghost projects. Knowone ever bred the New England line into the hypo. Next year I will breed the NE line into a hypo and that should improve the ghosts.
I think it matters what line of hypo you use too, huh?
Some have the degeneration of the bands like the hypos in their blood.

Mark, I am sure the hypos make a difference to. I will be using old stock from Love and Beard with no outcrossing. These are pretty patternless and yellow as adults. I would not use one with a lot or black or high red (flames).
Here's momma to the ghost I posted above....

Flame hypos have more pigment than a light colored yellow hypo. In order to create a lighter "ghost" both lighter colored hypo and axanthic lines should be used.
Rainer i bred the Yellow hypo to a NE Axan last year but she got clogged up and passed only 2 eggs that hatched, and she passed nearly a year later and was still clogged . and one of those babies choked on a fuzzy this year or what ever happened, remember the post ?so i also have a yearling or two from the beard line to try the remaining female do you think the traits are compatible
Mark that's one of the best ghot brooks i've seen, are you repeating that breeding next season?
