hey all, tomorrow im taking my leos of sand (no problems yet, but the sand turned my leos' undersides orange), and i was thinking about tile. not sure really what to do though...do i just buy tile squares and cut them to fit? or do you guys who use tiles just cover some of the cage and use paper towels to fill in? let me know what's worked

In my setup i use the tiles on the warm side over the UTH.

Here is a picture of my set up. There are 4 tiles on the left side pushed against the glass and the rest of the tank is covered with 2 sheets of papertowels.

I just want to add, make sure the tiles you use are at least a little rough. You don't want your geckos to feel like they are skating across the substrate!

I use rough tiles from home depot and i feel in the crack/empty space with sand that matches the color of the tiles:

I use the big tiles cut to size and fill the gaps with a little sand....

I have paper towel and then tiles on top on the warm side my male seems to like it that way.

Good luck and post some pic's if you decide to go with tile don't be scared to try somthing different.
