Humidity levels

sheshanaga Oct 03, 2006 12:30 PM

What is the appropriate humidity level for a cornsnake enclosure?
(I realize it is fairly humid in the South.) My ambient humidity is 40%.

Corn snakes do well with 40%-60% humidity (which is moderate).

Tim, thats a nice looking baby! Just wanted to let you know.

To stay on topic, my snakes just get the normal california valley air. I never pay much attention to humidity because my snakes never have any issues. A good key that it is not humid enough for your snake is, if the snake is having problems shedding.

Thanks Misty. Although people often associate corn snakes with living in humid southeast states, they also live in Kentucky, New Jersey and Maryland - which would indicate they're pretty flexible in their humidity needs.
