Question for housing mulitples...

icedearthgoddess Oct 03, 2006 02:00 PM

I have two femals, both good in size. The first one named Snow is my first leo...the second was one of two that housed together for a while till a friend bought her housemate. I have a 29 gal tank with a shelf and a ramp, driftwood and a natural rock. The house is definatley substantial for two. My problem... I think Snow wants her house all to herself. She has not been really aggressive towards BigBird (the other leo) But how long should I leave them in the same tank togther before I know that they will get along? I don't want dropped tails or fights. I have one hide that Snow uses, and because of the setup I cannot fit a second, it would be too much crowded floor space. I am afraid of BigBird going into the hide and Snow startings a fight... Any suggestions for introducing these leos and having them get along? Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. We are running out of room and it would be much easier having them both in one tank. Plus this tank is really nice, and gives the leos a lot to do.

As long as there is 2 or more hides, you should be good. In one of my breeder tanks there is two females that don't get along. They normally mind their own and stay out of each others way though. I'd say just put them in and monitor their actions and reactions real close. Make sure both of them are eating the same too. 29 can fit 3 comfortably, I'd say you have nothing to worry about. Just watch them closely and see if they are aggressive. Good Luck! Sam
