Ever take your beadie out in public?

draco_americanus Oct 03, 2006 06:00 PM

Sunday I decided togo to the cider mill and get some unpasterized applecider, since it was sunny and they allow pets there I decided to take bob with me. He seemed to take the attention very well, I have a leash for him just in case he falls or decides my shoulder is not a good spot to stay. I was amazed that more then a few people thought he was an iguana and lucky i don't think bob heard them say that

I've takem mine into petco, not my bearded dragon, but my water dragon and nobody did anything to stop me, but you'd still want to watch for dogs

I have taken my beardie to petsmart and it was fine. Kids that were looking at the baby beardies were fascinated at the size of my adult. The staff and most of the people were really interested. Other's just walked away if they didn't want to see him. I did take my travel cage in just in case he got freaked for some reason (dogs, etc.).

I brought my beardie to school with my the whole day last year. She didn't flare up once, but she seems to glow she turned so pasty white. It was beautiful. lol, I believe she loves the attention. yet, like you, alot of people thought she was a Gecko or an Iguana. lol.

My thought is it would be fine to take them out places but have them on a leash with one of those lizard harnesses. This would help prevent accidents and others would be more comfortable.
