My first Pit purchase!

jswanson737 Oct 04, 2006 06:42 PM

I thought these guys were awesome, the first is the female, the second is the male. I am used to Corns, so when I held the male and he rattled his tail the whole time he was in my hand, I cracked up... this should be fun!!

Someone named John at the Tucson, AZ show, he lives in El Paso, wish I would have gotten his last name, seems to be a good guy.

Haha, I have the feeling I am stepping into a whole new realm...

I didn't buy them as "Applegate's", but when I showed them to a friend, he mentioned they looked like it, so I did some research, and think you might be right... I am ecstatic!

Yeah, they may be Applegates, as that is what they appear to me as.

You have two very good looking snakes there. The first one is very clean looking (meaning the white seems to have no other color). They both should turn out to be outstanding animals either way. If they are applegate phase, then the lavender/white areas will really get whiter as they get older. Here is a pic of a male that I have.

Son of a ..... These little things are nasty! haha. They do enjoy hissing, but that's ok, but I have also heard of "musking". I don't know if I am getting musked, but after I hold them, my hands smell pretty bad, and I doubt they are just smelly snakes. Can anyone explain this, is it common, why and how often do they do it... I bet when they get bigger, it will smell alot more!?
