what if....snake to gray banded

rome Oct 05, 2006 01:57 AM

My lampropeltis alterna refuse to eat. I tried to give pinkie mice. Gray banded are also snake eaters, so what if i will give a snake to my gray banded. The other snake is Trimeresurus albolabris. Its venomous, so what do you think? Is it a good idea?

In my opinion that is not a good idea.. Try scenting your pinkies with a lizard first, it works well with stubborn hatchlings... I use house geckos but earless lizards and fence lizards work very well too. Keep us posted.

They are not aggressive snake eaters like a common kingsnake. More than likely they would just leave each other alone, but there is a good chance you will end up with a dead GBK.

Try scenting your mice with lizard, if after some time that does not work you might try a frozen / thawed lizard. Live lizards are a parasite risk, but might be a very last resort. As for the lizard, try the Earless or Spiny lizards, things like Anoles just do not work very well with GBKs.
