by letting YOUR kids play with it, you will be helping strengthen the gene pool. (Along those lines, you might want to play with it yourself.)

Seriously, if you want to try to fool people with a "what is it?" post, try it WITHOUT a picture that is already named something like "Yearling male Rock Rattler," as this one is. Because doing what you did just makes you look stupid.

...a really crapy photo at that.

They have this new thing on cameras nowadays - is called "Focus". Give it a try.

THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING PAGE . NEVER BEEN HERE . I LIKE IT

Rivets55 Oct 05, 2006 10:24 PM

...try posting a better pic.

You may also want to think about content and composition. There are a lot of folks here with knowlege and experience. They will help if asked - they will also call someone on their $h!t.

Well I am a little green with only 39 years keeping herps, 29 venomous and another 32 with crocs.SO i will try not to be so obtuse. The next time I will post a real picture. I will be collecting this weekend I always find something obscure. I shall test your supreme knowlege. Unlike some people i make mistakes, and admit them. I DO LIKE THIS FORUM IT IS CHALLINGING HERE TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS. THE KEY TO LIFE RELAX AND ENJOY THE RIDE.A APIFANY I HAD AFTER SEVERAL DAYS IN A COMA FROM AN ATROX BITE.

Welcome to the forum Archie. I'm sure you'll find like-minded people here.

Post some good pics - folks like that.

Anything off beat is cool - its nice to have the occasional distraction from the: "I Found This In The Garage Is It Poisonous?" posts with the obligatory out-of-focus Storeia pic.

Cheers!

If you have an obscure photo, most of the regulars here enjoy the quiz challenge. Just make sure you name it something like unknown so the "right-clickers" don't give it away.

This one was tough, unless you right-clicked

is it ragina im not sure is it north american

That is what most people guessed, but in fact it is the very strange Coniophanes quinquevittatus from Tabasco, Mexico. This species of Coniophanes is more like a Farancia in both build and habitat preference. And it has the personality of a Nerodia - this one bit like a mother!

justinian2120 Oct 06, 2006 06:33 PM

interesting,i can't say i'm familiar with them at all chris...but i was thinking that does indeed have to be very closely related to farancia.body coloration says regina, but that head is just a dead ringer, looks like a rainbow minus the red.......what's their deal,is there any particular charachteristics that set them apart from the rainbows and muds, why they're in a seperate genus?

Let's see...

1. an out of focus photo
2. a snake in an inappropriate cage
3. the same old dumb joke that has been played here time after time.
4. an example of someone being too lazy to even rename the file

LOL
