Vitamin Supplements

javajacketoc Oct 05, 2006 08:45 PM

Looking for suggestions on vitamin supplements. Saurian.net reccoments repcal and herptivite but I don't really have anything else that needs dusting at this time and I'm not really sure that I would be able to put all that product to use, they're also a little on the expensive side for both of them. Of course I didn't spend the money on the frogs to not care for them properly but just looking for options. I was looking into miner-all I but that's still a lot of product and I know the creaters designed it more for chameleons, which I have had great success when I use to breed and raise chams. Any feed back? Thanks!

I use Sticky Tongue Farms Miner All and it seems to work. Use it for frogs, leopard gecko. I have a Whites tree frog that I have had for seven years and that is all I have used.

A couple of jars of Herptivite and Rep-Cal are not that expensive. They last a long time, at least until the expiration date, with powder left over. Dendrocare is another alternative for a single supplement. If you can afford the price of dart frogs and all the other expenses of setting them up in planted tanks, along with culturing fruit flies for them, it seems like the vitamin-calcium/D3 supplements are a very minor consideration, expense-wise. They cost less than toothpaste and last for over a year.

blackjungle.com carries a vitiman/calcium supplement made esp. for darts. i use that for mine, it's a very find powder. about 7$ and expires about 1-2 years after you buy it.

on the top of the lid with a sharpie marker. It makes it easier than trying to remember when you opened the jar of supplement. I like to throw it away after six months and get a new jar.
