The girls have all changed lately.. I'm sure it's because they get so much more outdoor time than they have in the last year since the old pen was torn down.
I've noticed something in Shell E I've never seen in a turtle before & that's tortoise behavior.
Our sulcata is very nosy, personable, & likes attention from her humans. When I go outside and she notices me she has to come see what I'm doing, see if I have a treat for her, likes for me to turn the hose on & spray her, she likes a good hardy shell rub too. Shell rubs & scratching make her dance.
Shell E has become like her, I can go out into the new pen & when Shell E notices me she does the same thing the sulcata does & lately she's done the one thing I thought I'd never see... she does a dance the same way the sulcata does if I tickle her carapace. In the past I've tried to rub her shell but she didn't seem to like it, now she does.
Oh my gosh box turtles are so interesting!
