Moving to Texas

thebersrkr Oct 07, 2006 02:43 AM

Hey there everyone. Been awhile since I have made a post. Been overseas and haven't been able to check out the forum for a while. Turns out I will be moving to Texas in April. Hope to start with some new specs when I get there. Can anyone feel me in on the regs and laws? I know Chris Dieter used to live there so if you're out there Chris, please let me know. Talk to you all soon.
Chris

Hi Chris,

I have your email that you sent and will be replying with more detail this evening. I will add that alligators require permits in Texas and they are oftentimes hard to acquire.

There are many, if not the majority, of counties in the eastern part of the state with some strict regulations on crocodilians and exotics as a whole. But it's somewhat spotty and many towns/cities have very restrictive laws. Even Houston has an 8ft snake ban. There are excemptions of course.

As you go west things get a little better.
