Picked up a couple baby Albino San Diego Gophers. First Pits of the collection.

Son of a ..... These little things are nasty! haha. They do enjoy hissing, but that's ok, but I have also heard of "musking". I don't know if I am getting musked, but after I hold them, my hands smell pretty bad, and I doubt they are just smelly snakes. Can anyone explain this, is it common, why and how often do they do it... I bet when they get bigger, it will smell alot more!?

Precisely.

I've owned several varieties of snakes over the years, and been musked plenty. So far, Gopher musk has been the worst smelling and most persistent. I don't think the smell should change much as they get bigger, although it might, but they will have more of it to share. Hopefully, as they get older and tamer (?), they will be less inclined to bless you with their odiferous secretions.
