Beautiful little Bothrops Asper.
Too bad he's pictured on a SA Express News sports page and not in a more natural setting.

Yup, they were. Just a few things we've had in the past few weeks. The aspers were born on display which made it really fun trying to find them!

Did y'all know the mother was gravid?
Hope you found all the little ones. Wouldn't want the next keeper to clean the display cage to be hit by one that was left behind.
BTW, does the zoo budget not allow for better substrate than chemical laden newspaper? The SA Express is a decent paper, but I wouldn't want to sleep and eat on it.
