Anybody feed dry dog kibble?

BillyBoy Aug 06, 2003 07:33 AM

I tossed a couple of Nutro Natural Choice dlamb and rice kibbles to my Paraguayan b/w yesterday and she gobbled them right up. I was tossing her some crix, who eat the dog kibble, and decided to see what would happen if I rolled a kiblle in front of her and she chased it down, tried to chew it, and then just swallowed it. She did this with about five kibbles and seemed to enjoy the "chase" (the only live food she gets is crickets - all mice are f/t). So my question is, has anyone had any experience, positive or negative with feeding dry kibble? I guess if they can handle fur, feathers and bones, a little dry kibble should be no problem. Of course, it would just be a treat for her and not a daily staple. Just another way to interact with her directly and positively.

I've read that high quality dog and cat food is ok in moderation... in fact, I read that at albinotegu.com, if you want to check it out

Thank for the response. I always figured that was in reference to canned foods, which I've always fed to my carnivorous lizards in moderation. I was really wondering if anyone feeds their animals dry food. Mine really seems to like chasing them around if I roll them past her nose.
