I think I have 2 female green anoles with my 2 green treefrogs. I'd like to add a third anole. Can I add another female or a male blue anole or bark anole or should I stick with the green?

Also one of the anoles is much smaller than the other and they were both purchased at the same time with only a slight difference in weight. She still is very thin and I can see wrinkles in her skin. She is not being picked on and I have seen her eat a mealworm. Crickets are available but I haven't seen her eat one. Any suggestions on getting her to eat more?
Thanks

The smaller female may be intimidated by the presence of other animals in the enclosure. You should try separating her for a while and see if she'll eat like normal, if not, it's possible that she's sick.

As for adding another lizard, I'd skip on it. How big is the enclosure? Sounds like you've got plenty in there, already. If you really insist on adding another lizard, first consider the size of the tank, and I'd say another female green anole... Or male, if you want to try breeding them.

Wrinkles in skin always means they are deyhdrated ( spelled wrong). Anoles and any reptiles can get deyhdrated very fast .. is your cage too hot with no place to escape from the heat? try hand watering her with a dropper, if she dosent drink like that pull down the side of her mouth and put a drop there for her that should get her to drink you might want to put a lil sugar in it. Shes probably stressed with the frogs.. frogs do eat lizards and they will flip out if they see them in there. Good luck

I wouldn't recommend housing your green tree frogs and green anoles, either. For the sake of both of them.

But, please don't add a brown anole to the mix! If you separate them, you could find more compatable species to mix with each if you have your intentions set on doing so, but unless the enclosure is VERY VERY large, I don't think it's good for the animals involved at all.

Well, keep in mind that Knight anoles and green tree frogs aren't supposed to live in the same places, even if they sometimes do. So, if you bought a green tree frog, it's probably from somewhere North of where Knights have been introduced, anyway, so their environments are different.

Anyway, a brown frog is usually a cold or stressed frog. Sometimes, when they're sick, they stay brown for a long time. If it's only brown a little bit of each day I wouldn't worry, but if it spends most of the day or night that color there is something likely wrong.

It could be the Knight anole (who will eat that frog!) or something else, but I'd quickly separate them. If it's only one GTF, just buy it a separate 10-gallon tank, they're pretty cheap. The lids are the most expensive part, but you can even make one of your own using screen and clips Remember, most GTFs and Knights are wild caught and will transfer parasites to one another. And they're certainly not happy being near eachother, so I'd separate them
