I love her. She was so dark when I first got her, and after her first shed, she had these two great red colors contrasting each other. Now I thought, OK. not a great blood, which she was sold as. I was told she was so many things by so many people. And people I respect.
I personnally do not see a crimson, now understand it. And even funnier crimsons are a morph I really like. But not ones that look like her.
The more she sheds, the more she changes.
But I have to listen to Don, unless an evil joke lol, I now have to believe she is of crimson blood, and hypo, that part I thought she was.
Trouble is what to breed her with? But she was clearly a younger female when I bought her. Sadly I do not keep records. But I know shes grown, and she was not of breeding size when I first got her. So, I guess year one I bleed to my male blood, and save all thouse babies to create hypo bloods. Honestly I do not know every step to do that. BUT, if shes a good breeder, I hope to have many years of breeding her. So I can have a few projects of personal stock going.
Don also mentioned a strawberry and I can not find much info on them, nor any pictures. A little blurb on the german corn site is about it.
Bottom line is I was sad she is not a bloodred. I thought bloodreds had red bellies as adults?
But I'm beginning to see many advantages to being a hypo crimson.
So, it is all cool. Including her!
first ugly pic the day I got her on my birthday

2nd after first shed, but she seems to lighten after each shed. Developing some white around her saddles.
