Cage size

ta2edskin Oct 09, 2006 06:32 AM

I was wondering what would be a good size cage for a adult? Right now my gtp is about 1 1/2yrs old and close to 4ft and I have her/him in a cage that is 3'l x 12"d x 2'h. I am looking to either build a new one or buy one. Thanks for the help. I will post some new pics of him/her soon. Here is a pic when she was still yellow.

I keep mine in 30 X 24 X 24 enclosures but I'm going to eventually have cages built that are 36 X 24 X 24. A lot of people keep their's in 24 cubed cages. Mine are just really active at night so I want them to have space.

I think that I am going to make a cage that is 4'l x 2'w x 18"h.
Cause I have to make new cages for my other 2 reptiles so I am going to make one big cage that is 6'h x 4'l x 2'w then make 3 cages out of that. I will post some pictures of it when I get started in a week or so. Thanks again for the reply. Steve

No problem. Just be aware that with that much length, it can be hard not to get too low a temp on the far side of the cage. I wouldn't go over 40" long and keep the 24" height if you can.
