Quick Question.........

J35J Oct 09, 2006 10:56 AM

Will a female stop breeding if she knows she is already gravid? I had a female absolutely go nuts the first time I put my male in with her this year and the bred like crazy for a couple days. Now anytime I put them together they she wants nothing to do with him and will sit on the opposite end of the cage???

Do females know (I guess they would know) but will they then stop breeding?

Thanks
Jason

While her follicles develop, she'll keep breeding. It's not until she ovulates that the eggs become fertilized. Up 'til then, she's just storing away the sperm.

e-mail me and I can send you some more info on it if you're interested. Good luck!
