Today i was leaving a job and happened to glance over in the ditch and i saw an alligator about 2-3 feet long. It was in a residential neighborhood so it didnt seem like a good place for it to be especially since there's alot of idiots runnin around here with guns shootin anything that moves....or that they dont understand.
I love wildlife and i do all i can to help preserve it. im very much into snakes. I have quite a few so other reptiles spark my interest as well. I also do photography stuff and theres nothing quite like seeing an alligator sunning itself on the river. I dont wanna see that little guy get killed so i started makin some phone calls.
Now im kinda new to the alligator scene so correct me if im wrong. But it seems like no one wants to come and get this guy and take him out to the swamp a few miles away. One guy told me that since its so small its not really a nuisance so they wont do anything about it. He also said that he KILLS alligators when they are to0 big and he doesnt wanna mess with them. Is that normal for a guy who works under the wildlife and fisheries removing "nuisance" alligators?
Is there anyone out there who actually cares. Like maybe a not so famous american steve irwin who isnt lookin to make alligator skin boots and purses? Maybe someone who repects them and helps to preserve them.
Im also interested in training for relocating of venomous reptiles and alligators....and getting the proper permits....strictly for preservation. Can anyone help me please? Anyone on my side? Or am i wrong? DO i jus not know whats really going on and not understanding things? Thanks
