it really depends.
at a store, a normal hatchling leo will probably cost you only 20 bucks...at a show, maybe 10 or 15 bucks.
I paid 72 for my adult female leo from a reptile specialty store and 68 for my adult high yellow male leo from the same place.
the rarer the morph, the more expensive the leo will be.

well here are the very basics....

*a single leo can be housed comfortably in a 10gallon tank with a screen lid...a 20gal long tank is even better tho.

*for heat, leos really seem to utilize belly heat better than air heat so buy a reptile under tank heater (UTH). make sure to attach it to a rheostat or thermostat to prevent it from overheating. follow the directions on the package really well.

*for substrate, if you want to keep your leo as safe as possible, then stay away from bark, gravel, or sand based beddings. Use things like tiles, slate pieces, paper towels, etc that cannot be eaten.

*leos need a minimum of 2 hides, a water dish, and a supplement dish in their tank. the hide on the cool side of the tank should be a dry hide, and can be just a plastic hide from the petstore. the hide on the warm side of the tank needs to be a humid hide. i use cool whip containers filled with damp paper towels as humid hides for my leos and they work very well. the water dish should be on the cool side of the tank and filled with fresh water 24/7. the supplement dish should have a small amount of calcium supplement in it 24/7 (if you can, get Miner-all, it works great).

*for food, you can either use crickets or mealies as a staple. i use mealies because they are easier to care for and are less of a hassle. young leos should be fed every night while adult leos should be fed every other night. make sure to dust baby leos' food with calcium supplement every or every other feeding, adult leos' food needs only to be dusted once a week.

*get The Leopard Gecko Manual or some other book before you buy a leo*
