Do you homework, talk to people that you think you would like to do business with, and see if you like them, what they have, and what they do. Then you can check references.

And yes, Pastels are not Het.. They are Codominant, so they are pastel or they are not. There are no hets.

Make sure not to buy any Het for Pastels!!!

Good luck in your search!

Does one ever refer to pastels as Hets? If they do, this is news to me... (I must not be in the loop, forgive me)

I agree, pastels have a super form. It is a very nice co-dominant trait with a super form if bred together.

But, like I said in my previous post, there are no Hets for Pastel.

Heterozygous – means having two different genes for a given trait - a pastel has the normal "wild type" gene and the pastel gene which makes it a het for the dominate form (super pastel). Because the pastel gene causes the het form to look differnt than the wild type it's called a co-dom but it's got a mixed set of genes it also falls under het.

You're right there is no Het for Pastel, but a pastel is het for super pastel.

Is that clear as mud?

THAT'S WHAT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SAY!!!

Thanks for clarifying better than myself, Tosha.

I am not a literary genius in elaboration of misunderstandings. I tried, but I think you accomplished it much better.

Cheers!

I bought my pastel from Tony Hurt at Snake Evolutions.
I couldn't be happier. It's pounding down f/t rats like they're going out of style.

Quality animals and excellent customer service.
