choice of snake for las vegas

kenbp Oct 10, 2006 01:41 AM

I have a 4x18 wooden encolsurewith a hinged glass front. I just moved to las vegas from washington state. I moved my bp to a vision cage because of the low humidity here she was having trouble shedding. I am wondering what would be a good size snake to put in this enclosure that requires very low humidity and grows around 6 ft. Also a snake that would prefer a sand substate would be a plus.

With a cage that size you could go with something large and native to your area. I would look into getting a Coachwhip! Always wanted one, but don't have the room. Or, consider a Bullsnake or Gopher. There are many fine desert-living snakes to choose from. Also, look into a Desert Kingsnake.

Cheers,
