Mark Bell speckled mex mex...

mexicanamak Oct 10, 2006 01:56 AM

An outstanding pair Mark had on display the NARBC show in Chicago this past weekend. I hadn't planned on attending this year until I noticed Mark and Kim on the vendor list. These snakes alone were well worth the price of admission. I seemed to notice more kingsnakes and fewer pythons this year as compared to the previous two years which was nice to see.

Had a very nice chat with Mark, great guy to get acquainted with. He and Kim both were very helpful, and gracious enough to allow me all the time I needed to photograph their snakes. I tend to be a "hands-off" kinda guy at shows and these two snakes needed no prompting, I was able to get a few nice lids-off deli cup shots.

Enjoy the pics, here's the male.....

I may have to invest in a pair of these first rate ultra-speckled things. I arrived there early and did bring home a nice pair. Nowhere near what these are, but from this bloodline none the less so my visit with Mark was well worth the time.

Here's the female.....

Look for my e-mail. If you happened to notice a post in the Kingsnake Forum shortly after the Daytona show, those prices were accurate.

Next thing you'll be sending us all trial packages of heroin.

Seriously, I think I just felt a priority shift on my list of snakes to obtain. Please post some pictures of the ones you picked up if you get a chance.

Don't do it, you'll get hooked.

They're not an easy snake to appreciate until you've kept a few for a while. My preference ranking at one time was thayeri, alterna, greeri and mex mex ranking last. I no longer have greeri but they still rank, now it's thayeri, mex mex a very close second, greeri and alterna slipping into last place although Doherty's Black Gap's still charge me up quite well. These speckled mex mex really aren't what excite me with this ssp to bring them to second place, they are just a mighty nice bonus.

I first saw those at the Daytona expo, and was blown away. If I had had the money I would have walked away with them. .
