?? re: fridge and necropsy...

lele Aug 06, 2003 09:57 AM

Does anyone KNOW (please no speculation) how long a cham can be kept cool before being necropsied? I have not heard back from my vet and I put out emails to several people in the field (AdCham, Cham News, Dr. Ivan and a few more) to see if ANY one will do this as research in the name of science and the betterment for all chams. If he can stay in the fridge for awhile as I wait to hear back from them I won't feel so torn about it all. SOMEONE has to be willing to take advantage of this opportunity? Right? Now I just need to find him/her!

Thanks,

lele

Lele,

I'm by no means an expert, but i'd say get him to wherever he's going pretty quickly. The fridge does slow down the decay, but it doesnt stop it, and freezing, as im sure you know, destroys the tissues.

Good luck in your search for answers, i'm pulling for you!
