Retic Scalation

snakeman55 Oct 10, 2006 03:10 PM

Here are some UN-scientific drawings that I did from photos I took. I'm not really trying to prove anything, I'm just satisfying my own curiosity. Here are 3 adult female Retics. A Mainland, a Jampea and a Super Dwarf. All 3 are around 4-6 years old. Their scales and pits are clearly different...

Mainland

Jampea

Super Dwarf

looks like there is normal scale variation(size and shape).

i have given all my retics a good look over, and would have to say they all have the same number of heat pits.

its hard to get a good look at the upper labials from your drawings, the jamp should have 2 more upper labial heat pits too (you didnt draw those in?). i am pretty sure all retics have a total of 10 upper labial heat pits, including superdwarfs and jamps.

the superdwarf and jamp have the same number (general shape, and position too)of pre-orbitals too... but, they are different than the mainlands.

neat drawings!
