He is still doing well, but has downsized his lizards. He got some weird viral infection that hit his lizards pretty hard. He still has his awesome tank, but nothing in it at the moment. He talked about trying to raise some skinks...something local that could tolerate the higher humidities that the plants require in the setup.
I have his e-mail address if you'd like it. I told him to pop in here, but haven't seen him post yet.

Wow, now that's a waste not having anything in that gorgeous tank! I hope John decides to get some more reps so we can see some new pictures of his setups
I take it you're not a plant person LOL How is school, David???
J
Hey John,
School is well, school. This semester is flying by though, not sure if that is good or bad. AND it's friggin cold! I had to walk to class yesterday morning and there was ice...I don't even have my winter jacket down here yet.
I finally found that Sailfin petshop you were telling me about in Champaign. It's a pretty nice place. All my tanks are still up at home, but I think i'm going to setup a freshwater tropical tank down here in the apartment.
How are you and the lizards doing...and the family?
David
I'm trying to get my two collareds (that's all I have now) fattened up for their winter slumber, as well as my two chuckwallas. We have three leopard geckos too. One adult, one midsize, and one still pretty small (babyish?).
Kids are getting more and more interested in herps, and I took them back down to S. Illinois this past weekend and they got to see some new snakes they've never seen before.
I really want to build another pen this Spring, but I have to make sure I have my honey do list done first LOL
John
I'd say 7 lizards is plenty
Though, I've been playing with a Bearded Dragon that the Biology dept has here, and its pretty cool. I'm tempted to try a couple of those sometime. They could live with Collareds, right?
Glad your kids are into herps. How old are they now? It seems like its been forever since I saw them...though I guess that was almost 3 years ago?
I hope you do build another setup in your yard, I'll definatly come down and see it if you do! Just pretend like you're putting in a hot tub for the wife's birthday, don't actually say it though. Just leave a hot tub catalog out and when she asks what you're doing say it's a surprise. Then when she figures it out, just act all innocent and say its her fault for coming to the wrong conclusion. Haha, maybe not.
