Yellow Belly or Not ??

CaseyWagner Oct 11, 2006 07:01 PM

I have a female that reminds me of a yellow belly. She has the dot on her head, flames on the sides and just has the all around look of yellow belly to me. ( I'm no expert, just looked at lots of pics and can't shake the feeling that she is) Well I bred her this year and some of the babies have the same look. So heres pics of one of the offspring. Let me know what you all think.
Thanks,
Casey

I'm no expert on yb's, but to me, the pictured snake doesn't look like one. It just doesn't have that 'look,' which admittedly is pretty subjective with this morph. This is my male:

You can notice the overall 'amberish' look to him, especially toward the belly, then the relatively clean belly, neck stripe, etc. Jon at Next World Exotics has a nice hunter's guide which includes an article on yb's.

like her then it might be a good idea to breed one of her similar sons back to her to see if it is something else. You never know what is going to pop out of these things.
