babyleucistic skin injury, treatment?

tumbslt Oct 11, 2006 07:13 PM

Hey everyone,

I had a horrible incident today when I came home my baby leucistic was hanging upside down on the temperature gauge. Some how he pulled the gauge up and became attached to the back of it. When I went in to rescue him he squirmed and literally ripped off a big piece of his skin or scales off. Now he is missing a huge chunk of his skin and all that is showing is the muscle tissue in the area. Will this heal? Do I need to take him to the vet or can I take care of it myself? What could I do to keep infection out? neosporin or etc? Can anything be done to help him. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Shannon Tumblin

is in order ASAP. In the meantime, you want to get him off any loose substrate that might stick to the poor baby.
