what type/sub specie is this? honey-comb sulphur? locality?

That does not look like a sulphur water monitor to me at, and i have seen a few - pics of them of all ages not to mention a few in person. Looks more like a sumatra or java V. salvator. Go to www.cybersalvator.com and ask JohnA. there - he knows ALOT of water monitors.

As for sulphur monitor locality, I will not tell - do you want all of the rest of the pet-trade to wipe out all of the rest of these lizards - the skin-trade market has nearly wiped them as is....
