Probaly a stupid question, but..........

RobertIIII Oct 12, 2006 12:42 AM

Hey all I do not know much about pits at the moment, but am doing research because I plan on getting one some time in the near future. My question concerns a pic I saw the other day of a black pine eating a chicken egg. just was wondering how common this was and if its healthy? thanx for any replies

Not a stupid question at all -- supposedly, a diet of eggs gives rather odiferous and messy stools (as if pit crap didn't stink enough already!). Kauffeld writes of pits he had that readily took eggs in "Snakes: The Keeper and the Kept". One of these days I need to try eggs on my pits just to see if there are any takers. I hear room temp, farm fresh eggs work the best, though Kauffeld writes of a pit that seemed to prefer eggs right out of the fridge over warm ones!
