Hello Everyone,
WOW, That is all I can say. Today is my 15th anniversary, and I hatched my first Bee. And, it is a boy!! My wife seemed happy about it this morning, but not as excited as I was. Oh well, at least she lets me fool around with all this craziness.
I was concerned about this clutch. The female spider was small, about 1400G at the start of breeding. She laid eight eggs that were small, they averaged 80g each. The eggs also looked odd, with spots and a general rough look. One egg went bad about 2/3 of the way through, it was a spider. Other eggs were shriveling even though other eggs from another clutch were doing fine in the same box. A couple of other hatchlings that are still in the egg are very small and don't look very good. There are three female spiders and the male Bee which look fine.
The female spider was bred to both pastel and pied males. The only pastel in the clutch was the Bee. None of the normals have any sort of het pied belly marks. I'll keep all of the female spiders and breed them to a male pied in the future to see if there is a chance they are het pieds.
This is my next to the last clutch of the year, it sure is a good one.
Thanks for reading, Mike
