What do they use for heat? A torch?

For bending they use a heat gun and something straight and solid to bend the cage around.

For soldering they have a special gun.

Hi Frank,

I think dados are the most often used joint for racks. But for the DIY type the PVC corner angle can be used to form a cleat and greatly increase surface area for solvent welding.

If you have the tools to cut dados, they are strong and very cheap.
