I am thinking about getting Roaches, just to fatten up my Collared a little bit. And plus it seems like I need to feed him a lot more bigger things cause anything small dosent really atract his attention much.

So I was wondering what kind of Roaches I should get and how many.

I was thinking maybe 10 Orange head Roaches. Whhat should I keep them in and feed them?

And wheres the best place to get them on, website wise?

Have you tried pinky mice for a quick protein boost? (I don't know if they're actually full of protein, but they have to have more nutrients than a cricket, right?) I used to feed mine a pinky each once a month...it really grabbed their interest and fattened em up.

However, a warning, watching a collared eat a pinky isn't for the faint hearted.

Well I dunno if I could really get my hands on one, my dad might freak out but I guess I Could get one at Petco. So I should feed it ONE Predead pinky right? just get it and throw it in?

It would probably fatten him up too

Any reptile/most pet shops will have pinky mice. I dont' think Petsmart or Petco carry them.

"Predead"...yeah, I could never get mine to eat dead mice. Most petshops carry live feeder mice.

You could try wiggling a dead one in front of your lizard, but as I said, it never worked for me.

Oh, and yes, only ONE pinky mouse per lizard. And they should only be fed pinkies once in a while.

Well, it sure looks as if he's enjoying that mouse! Too bad, I kinda enjoy mice myself. It never bothers me to feed bugs, though. I guess, having raised hamsters for years, I just have a soft spot for the rodents.
