I'm also just beginning so I'll definately defer to people with more experience, but what I've been seeing and been told, about a three or four week rest period between breeding periods is ideal. My male has been taking a rat or two during that period but my female continues to refuse to eat. Since I've only got the one pair my male gets two or three days in with my female and then he's back into his cage. Makes for lots of 'resting', but I don't see a problem with that.
We'll see if I get any viable eggs, but both of my snakes still have good weight and look great, so at least I'm not doing any harm.
Any experienced breeders have some suggestions?

-----
1.1.1 normal ball pythons (Cindy, Darwin, and Periscope)
1.0 rex rat (Scurvy)
0.1 bunny (Spazz)
2.1 betta fishes (Vicious, Killer, and Butters)
2.2 great danes (Shasta, Odysseus, Merlot, and Watson)
1.0 fat fuzzy mutt (Smokey)
1.1 cats (Thidwick and Turtle)
2.0 horses (Buddy and Sam)
1.0 goat (Billy Jack)
2.25 chickens (Jacques the rooster and his harem)
but what I really want is more ball pythons!
