Record size Pines ?

simias Oct 13, 2006 11:40 AM

Following up on the discussion of the largest bullsnake on record, does anyone know of or have candidates for the largest on-record N., S., Black and Louisiana Pines ? Northerns must be the largest, and ruthveni the smallest ?

seven foot but I wouldn't think its the largest. Its a 23 year old northern that was c/b from a wild caught gravid from the pine barrens.I will get a pic of the old man.I used to have a female albino northern that was just at seven feet also.My adult ruthveni are maybe five to five and a half feet.

Talk about power feeding. Is he on steroids?

This '99 male is 8.5 feet and weighs 9.5 pounds. Is that big enough for you. He has gone on hunger strikes periodically over the years, and doesn't like any meal larger than a medium rat. I did feed him a lot his first year!

Don't let the pose put you off.........this stud is puppy dog tame. He would make an exceptional animal for a "hands on" display animal.
