Like any pet, How hard they are to take care of depends on the amount you invest in their setup and the time you take to understand their needs. What Kind of animals are you familar with? Have you kept any lizards before?

Well, keeping a baby waterdragon is like keeping an anole, just on a larger scale. As far a temperment is concerned they can be as friendly as leopard geckos, but they go through stages, they have an adolecent stage fronm like 1-2 years where they become more flighty and nervous. As adults they calm down and become quite docile. They are territorial, your best bet is have no more then one male if you were planning on having more then one. Incandent lighting for heat, a filter water source deep enough for them to submerge themselves, Full spectrum lighting along with a phosphorus free calcium suppliment or regular exposure to natural sunlight, are some of there basic requirements. As far as cage size is concerned, the bigger the better. Aquariums are to small for adults and should be used only for rearing hatchlings. A thermal gradiant of 70-90 is good. Check this forum for examples of cages, and information on free roaming setups, good luck! P.S. I am giving away some babies with proof of proper setup, email me if your interested.
