Do Leopards go blind?

bmulcahy Oct 13, 2006 05:48 PM

I have two Leopards in my class. I took them from someone 3 and 1/2 years ago and they were full grown at the time. I have nno clue on their age. One of the Leopards eyes are always 1/2 closed and they just look black. It is going blind?

Thanks in advance!
Brian

If there is objects in the eye, or if there is improper shedding over the eye, that area can become infected.

In the book, "The Leopard Gecko Manual" it states that you shouldnt have albinos in the light often because there eyes are more sensative then other leos.

Heres my philosophy(or however you spell it), If we can go blind, a cat can go blind, fish can go blind, im pretty sure anything can be born with some defect causing blindness or get blind from a illness.

Correction, anything that uses a eye can go blind, theres always that chance of error.

If you believe something is wrong with your leo, I say trust your instincts and get him checked out. As they say, better safe then sorry.

Good Luck
