Lighting a Burm Viv....

Mark_D Oct 14, 2006 07:02 AM

Hey Everyone,

I have got my Burm a new Viv, all built and ready to go.
I'm heating the Viv with a ceramic lamp all guarded etc.
I was wondering what the best way to light the viv would be??
I was thinking of a reptile strip lamp, but is there anyway of guarding this?
My burm is only around 10 months old, but I dont want him somehow smashing the lamp etc.
Also how big should the lamp be compared to viv size?
Half the length maybe?

Cheers in advance

Mark

From what I understand, as long as you have proper heating, the light is only for day, night differential. One thing you can do is insert a piece of glass into the top of the Viv. Lay an aquaruim light on it just as you would for a fish tank. There are many other ways but need more info from you on the specs of your cage.
