My small female just dropped her clutch. She was really too small to breed but she was showing signs of being receptive and I really wanted to prove her genetic status.
I'm happy that she's Ok. She just ate two rats. The cool thing about this clutch is that the male is a het for hypo. He's a sibling to the female that gave birth last week. Both from the EBV outcross of 2001. The female is also het for hypo but her mother is unrelated to this line and unrelated to the female from the 2001 outcross. This was the first pairing of two "cousin" hets. Up until this point, all het pairing have been between siblings. Even though the clutch was small, I'm really pleased with the results:
3 live: 1 hypo male; 2 66% chance het females
Masses range from 28 to 33 grams
1 still born 66% chance het
Lots of very small infertile ova
Sorry, no pics yet but I'll have plenty very soon.
That's it for me this season. My grand total is 29 babies out of three clutches. Good luck to those of you still pacing. Let me know when you've got numbers.
