uvb for frogs and amphibians?

johnnymo Oct 15, 2006 02:32 PM

ive always been told amphibians do just fine with out UVB rays but lately ive been hearing that they DO need them to be healthy. is there certain species that need uvb light? or is it possible to raise all kinds of amphibians without any UVB.

It depends on whether or not you are using a good supplement. If the supplement contains D3 then they do not need UVB.

the group Rana (bullfrog group) or "true frogs" need this, others don't, but they need supplements, it certainly can't hurt though.
