A slight regurge? Here's some pics.

Steve_Craig Oct 15, 2006 08:07 PM

Went to check on my 06 Anery Corn and make a newspaper change and noticed the object in the pics below. I fed her on Oct 10th, and just noticed it tonight. So hard to say between the 10th and now when it happend. One thing I might add, there is no foul smell like you would get from a typical regurge. I put my nose as very close, and nothing bad. You'll also notice underneath what looks like to me snake poop. Or it might be something else. Any opinions are welcome. If in doubt, I'll just treat it as if it's a regurge and lay off feeding for 8-10 days. Thanks in advance.

Well.....
It doesn't look like any regurge I've ever seen (although it does have the same "fleshy" texture) but at the same time I have never seen any feces like that..... I would have to lean towards regurge if you made me choose.

Its a regurge. Just a few do the same thing when the temperatures dropped here suddenly after feeding.

I guess the small is down because the stomach acids have had a chance to do their thing. I doubt that pinkies rotting in the stomach is the proper digestion process.

Thanks Rainer. I thought it might be a regurge, but I wasn't sure because I'd never had one look quite like that before.

for your thoughts on the matter.

it looks to ma to be a regurge that was partially digested. It may not stink because it looks to be a day old or so. Kinda dried out, so less smell. Those are just my thoughts.
I had a snake that regurged after a day or so of digesting, and it looked very similar.

Thanks Misty. I've only had a few snakes regurge on me in the past, and this was the first time I had seen one like this. Oh well, no food for this gal for ten days. Thanks for your reply on the matter.

One of my new 06 phantom's did the same thing. She regurged one meal after 3 days and it looked just like yours, mostly digested. She had 2 good meals after and then did it again. Its been 3 weeks now and all meals have been digesting properly. I don't know but maybe it could be related to stress since she is more flighty than the 06 male phantom I have as well.

Glad to hear your female phantom is getting back in good shape. You'll have to post some updated pics of those beauties as they grow.

Steve,
definitely a regurge.
With temperature changes this time of year there might have been a temperature drop of a couple of degrees.
I would check to make sure the enclosure is warm enough, give it the 10 days, feed it a smaller pinkie and work from there.
It should be fine.
I have a few instances where a hatchling may regurge for whatever reason and never do it again.

Thanks Jimmy. I just took the nasty pics down. They've been up on display long enough. No need to ruin anyones dinner two days in a row, LOL
Thanks for your reply. Looks like my anery might be going shed, so that "might" have been a reason for the regurge.

That can do it also.
I have had it happen a few times with snakes about to shed.
Good luck with it Steve.
