3 Places which sell stock tanks

Maggie May 20, 2003 03:42 PM

like all of you I'm always keeping an eye out for affordable but spacious turtle homes (short of building a pond though)...and I've found these 3 links...sometimes the rubber/plastic containers are called poly tanks...I guess some of the tanks are way too big heavy for indoors and apartments (I got many warnings from turtle keepers) so be careful...frankly if I owned a home I would by a huge stock tank and turn it into an outdoor pond (no digging needed)

To calculate the weight of water in a container multiply the lxwxh divide by 231 then multiply by 8.5=water weight then the weight of the empty container

Links are FYI (I am not an affiliate with anyone of these sites)

I haven't gotten the old text book out, but that would be in inches right? 231 cubic inches equals approx. 1 gallon and the weight of one gallon of water is slightly over 8 pounds.
