Correct me if i'm wrong, but i've heard the 'snow' gene isn't dominant. If that's the case, why are they going for 500$ if you can't even breed snow in?
And if not, chastise me so I can get back to thinking Midnights are cute.

Mack snows are co-dominate. The heterozygous form sells for $100-200. The homozygous form, or the super snow, sells for around $500-1000. I don't know exact prices as I'm not into that particular morph. They sell for the amount they do simply because people pay that much.
I don't know what you meant by "can't breed in", or whatever. If you can reask this another way I can try to aswer this question.
I was told that the 'snow' gene couldn't be rebred, and was just a fluke sort of thing. Misinformed I guess.
I beleive you may be talking about the "line bred snows", not Macks. Macks are indeed co-dom.

There are line-bred snows along with co-doms. I also believe that TUG claims that their line acts like a dominat trait.
Prices for co-doms are going from $50 to $300 if it's a het. Super Snow females were going for $300 at Tinley.

That's a bit of a difference from $500-1000.

$100-$1000 is the range I've seen. But it all depends on the quality of the snow and if it's het for another morph. Prices could be on the low end if the breeder is trying to make room for other projects, or high if they are trying to make back some money he/she spent on purchasing their breeder when prices were still very high. I paid $700 for a Mack het Bell female a few months back, and just got a male Mack het Bell for $300 last month, from the same breeder. Prices are dropping fast.
