So I don't know if I'm just incredibly jaded against foggers, but I pretty muchly hate them. They are incredibly finicky and take a lot of tampering to get to fog correctly and if you don't have good drainage in your tank, the tank ends up sopping wet and stagnant. Plus they are down right expensive. The initial cost of the fogger is typically around $30 and then the replacement discs for when they wear out (and this happens fairly frequently) are pricy as well. They are really more designed for asthetic purposes rather than for husbandry. If that's what you're looking for...that's great. If you are looking to boost humidity, buy yourself as good hand mister and save yourself some money.

I agree, they are a waste of money. All mine did was use up all the water in the waterfall overnight. Didn't do nothing for humidity. Plus I have also read from others that they can zap the frogs if they are in the water when the fogger decides to short. Not worth a dead frog.

I know for a fact that they zap!! I have fried my finger many a times on mine. I never use them in an exhibit. I have always set mine on top of the screen for that very reason.

I agree with Luke. The ultrasonic foggers I've tried suck. They are designed for small table entertainments, not for vivariums. They are also short lived. They don't work well with distilled water, but anything else clogs them up with deposits. In my opinion, they aren't worth bothering with. The water level has to be exact, or they don't work. They splatter water around, use it up fast, and then fail to work ever again after the first water has been used up. It's sort of fun to watch the first experiment with them create some fog that hangs around the tank. But unless someone comes up with a better design, the submersible ultrasonic foggers are next to useless for our purposes.
