My kids say it is impossible to fill them up. We had larger in the past, right now we have one my son is calling Grunt that is a hatchling. It eats constantly, being a growing baby.
When we have fed your size of snapper it seems like they ate half a dozen 2inch minnows every day, every other day ....depending on the weather, the temps and it's mood. Growing babies will slow down eventually but 4" is still growing fast.
If you are feeding prepared foods....you got me. I stopped feeding them as anything but winter fill in rarely after having vitamin deficiency troubles with a couple of asian boxes and having my vet say he felt pretty negatively about the boxed foods. Shelf life is limited. His thoughts were that most people buy the bigger container to feed (cheaper per ounce) and then by the time they are half way through the degradable vitamins are gone. He very much recommended fresh foods. But that is him and me.
