Does anyone hear know anything about these? Do they help non-feeders to eat? If so, where can you find them. I read that they are a last resort for a non-eating snake but i am not sure why they are a last resort.

I have never tried these & i have never heard of anyone that had success using them to get a gray band to eat... lizard scenting will give you your best chance of success.
I still think you should try to return this non feeder to LLL or ask them if they will trade for an animal that is eating..

I put an anole in there with him today and he takes no interest in it.he acts hungry at night and searches his cage but doesnt seem to like lizards or mice. i am wondering if he is sick because he acts very calm for a baby snake when i hold him and he doesnt try to escape. he slowly climbs around my hands and rarely moves fast except sometimes when i try to take him out of his cage he quickly hides under his log.
anoles are not the best way to go for scenting.. i think i may have askes you this last week .... but have you tried scenting a thawed pinky using a house gecko?
Yes i tried that and it didn't work so i gave him the whole gecho(alive)and he didnt seem interested but i left him in with it and he never ate it. i also tried fence lizards.
If i had a alterna hatchling that did not eat prior to november i would hibernate it and 9 times out of 10 they come out of hibernation ready to take thier first meal.. i know from speaking to you that this may not be an option for you b/c you cannot get the temp down low enough to hibernate...

Yea i can't get low enough temperatures to hibernate him. Those are some very nice looking GBKs, mine looks similar to the one in the middle.
Also, do you think that it is time to try force feeding? I think i am beggining to see that he is getting skinnier and i am afraid he will die if he doesn't eat soon.
How low can you go? Where do you live?I know the small cold fronts are starting to move into Texas now but they don't seem to make it down as far as we are. Perhaps a friend could brumate it for you. 55 degrees for 4-6 would probably work and then a week of raising temps should have you a ravenous feeder, although I would keep at it. I have the same situation going on now, try a baby field mouse. Go flip some trash sites in your area and see if you can find a female with babies. Usually when they run, they leave one or more behind. Just some extra suggestions. Good Luck.

I live in Los Angeles and it is very hot here and i couldn't even get 65 degrees
I hatched out 7 good GBK babies this year. 1 ate right out of the egg. After a few weeks, None of them would eat. I force fed all 7 mouse tails. They would not eat again, so I did tails again. Then I tried F/T pinkies again. This time 3 of them ate, and 2 of the others ate washed pinkies. I then did pinkies again, and 4 of them ate F/T pinkies. I didn't wash any that time, but that last time was just the other day. I sold 1, and I expect the other eaters to go soon. The tails worked for me. I bought a GBK last year in Dayton that wasn't eating yet. I still have to scent with House gecko. I will brumate her this winter to try that. I don't know if the clutch of GBKs I hatched out was luck, or not, but they were not hard to get started. If you do scent with house gecko, make sure you wash the pinkie with unscented dish detergent. you just need 1 tiny drop, and make sure you rinse it well, then rub it on the gecko, and if that doesn't work, try a little gecko blood. Good luck! Derek
