he's almost 2 years old, 5 1/2" carapace. eats everything from fuzzies to crickets, plants, fish, fingers, whatever.
I'll pass on the fingers(lol) but what type of plants does he eat. I'd like to get mine on something besides shiners and shrimp. They wont even take pellets. Thanks for the pics, Steve
he doesn't exactly inhale it, but he'll eat some anarcharis, banana plants, lilies, and other plants you get at fish stores. its more of a you notice they start to dwindle rather than him actually eating it. it took a while to switch him to other stuff. it started with me putting crayfish in, then dead crickets on the bottom, then on the top, then to pellets.
Great looking snapper! I like the picture a lot. I think my pinkskin will look similar to this when he gets 2 inches bigger or so. Mine has similar green on his head and front legs. Is the green algae stains or does the skin turn green prior to being shed? I would love to find a way to keep the green away.
