LeoEyes Aug 06, 2003 01:35 PM

Heres a Leopard Gecko pen and ink im working on, what do you think? Did I get the anotomy, ect correct?

This is done from a picture I took of one of my female leos, Calypso. It is done on 9in by 12in watercolor paper with sakura pens. :-]

Wow.. your quite the artist! That looks like it's going to be quite the chunky leo when your done hehe... great work!

Have you ever considered digital art? with a tablet? check them out at: www.wacom.com other companies make them, but they are really good.. I suggest getting an Incuos2... they don't cost too much either... and you can get a full painting program, with all the brushes you would ever need! you should check it out, you sure do have talent!

WOW be sure to post the finished pic. So far it looks great. Pen and Ink is my favourite medium to work with. I did a pic of an iguana once, have no clue where it is now though.
Have you ever thought of going into graphic art as a career?

NiCe start...but you should turn that frown upside down...Leos SMILE!

davecable Aug 07, 2003 04:38 AM

That is an awesome start for sure! The tail and back legs almost look real. I agree with Starling that the smile is a bit off. Take some time looking at leo pictures online, and maybe rethink the jaw line and leo ‘smile’. I’m pretty sure it will make a big difference in the finished image. Hope I’m not disappointing you any, just honest opinion. I’ve never drawn a leo, but I do have some experience with charcoal. Keep up the good work and keep us posted!

Im not disapointed, thats why I put the picture up, to make sure I'm getting everything right :-].

Im trying to make my art look at real as possible, and that includes all the anotomy and all the unique things about each subject.
