I had a 350 gram female that was an awsome eater. I feed everyone on fridays here, On friday morning she had deficated, I weighed her then feed her, She always takes two small mice, when i had gotten the mice one mouse didnt look so hot and it died I threw it out just to be safe. She ate her two mice no problem, got a drink went in her hide, sat morning i notice that she was laying on the cool side , I checked the temps they were fine, I moved her back on the heat, she stayed thier to sunday morning she came out and i notice that she had a lump up close to her neck area , within 10 minutes she threw up her two mice, ( very gross) I cleaned Her entire tank out set her back up and all seemed fine. I knew she was

If she chose the cool side you probably should have left her there. Moving her could have stressed her also. try feeding her next week normal time and then leave her be. Some times once they regurge it can be a long term problem so if that doesn't work get professional help.

Keep her hydrated. Wait 2 weeks and try only 1 mouse. If that is good for 3 weeks go back to normal size meals.

I didnt relize that. She died last night , She came out of her hid and start twisting around i took her out and nothing looked abnormal and she died within a few minutes.. I was wondering if it could have been a bad mouse?

Your best bet is to get a necropsy done - that way you know for sure what happened - it could be any number of things - and especially if you have other reptiles - you should know exactly what the cause of death was to rule out contamination and further loss.

Very sorry for your loss.

Do vets do that? I still have the body.Im gonna call. And set that up. Im worried now because of all my others thwy all ate on friday to so far they all seem ok, but I guess you can not be to carefull. I just started breeding my own mice, Im right in the begining I have a few that should delive soon but im a ways off from not having to but them still. Thnak you i will update soon.

Hi there,
Sorry to hear that she died. I saw this happen before in a pet store that I worked at in college. We got our weekly delivery of mice and rats and we started feeding our reptiles right away. After, we noticed that the mice were acting strange in their bins. They started to die with neuro like disorders. We had already fed the snakes, and some big lizards and monitors, so there was not much more we could do. The next day the snakes where twisting around and dying. Some regurgitated and then died. We later found out by the rat and mice company that some of the mice we got may have got into rodent poison. Their employee had gathered a bunch of mice that had gotten out the night before and seperated them into a bin to later be destroyed as they have poison traps all over their facility. Accidentally, they were given to us. So we fed rat poison to our snakes and lizards. This might be the same thing. Hope this helps.
